KPI Experiment: Weeks 6-8 | Subscribers Only

Updated: Oct 21, 2024

Hey Subs, fell off the weekly wagon so here's my progress update for the past few weeks. I'm streamlining the work to do these posts as well... hence the layout is different. Hope all is well. - Chris.

Summary of What I've Been Up To and Thinking

  • Exploring ways to establish direct relationships with KPI methodology leaders

  • Comparing different types of influencers and their impact

  • Analyzing network development strategies

  • Reflecting on the challenges of consistent execution and prioritization

  • Pursuing goals to interview Daniel Priestley for the Rural Entrepreneur podcast

  • Evaluating progress on subscriber growth and landing page effectiveness

  • Acknowledging the need to balance multiple priorities while continuing the KPI experiment

Key Quotes from my Audio Notes:

"I'm still all in, but all in doesn't necessarily mean that it's a number one priority. So I'll continue to do this. I might miss a week or two, but the goal is to still get to the 100 subscriber mark by March 2025 and continuing working on it when I can."
"Network development continues to be an important thing. In fact, your most important asset, whether you're an entrepreneur or of your venture, is your network."

Influencing the Influencers (00:03 - 03:08)

The speaker discusses their approach to "influencing the influencer," specifically targeting Daniel Priestley, the creator of the KPI methodology. They express a desire to establish a one-on-one relationship with KPI team leaders without investing in their expensive program. The speaker has reached out to Daniel on LinkedIn, aiming to build a connection without the $7,000 investment typically required for their course.

Comparing Influencers (03:08 - 04:46)

This section contrasts different types of influencers, using Scott Galloway as an example of someone who influences people to take meaningful action that helps others, not just themselves. The speaker ponders the question of "who matters" in terms of the influence they have on us and our actions.

Network Development Strategies (04:46 - 09:10)

The speaker analyzes Daniel Priestley's video on network development, agreeing with the principle of building networks from a digital perspective. They discuss the importance of both "tight ties" and "loose ties" in a network, emphasizing the value of personal connections in business relationships. The speaker also reflects on the challenges of maintaining and leveraging these connections effectively.

Progress and Challenges (09:10 - 10:39)

In this final section, the speaker provides an update on their KPI experiment progress. They mention successfully connecting with Daniel Priestley for a potential podcast interview and discuss the challenges they're facing with subscriber growth. The speaker reflects on the difficulties of balancing multiple priorities while continuing the experiment.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Building direct relationships with industry influencers can be valuable, even without formal program enrollment.

  2. Consider the impact and motivations of different types of influencers when choosing who to follow or emulate.

  3. Develop both "tight" and "loose" ties in your network, focusing on meaningful connections.

  4. Consistent execution and prioritization are ongoing challenges in implementing the KPI methodology.

  5. Balancing multiple priorities while pursuing long-term goals requires flexibility and persistence.
